The Black History Month Game Show is an inclusive, hands-on experience that’s perfect for building awareness, respect, and team spirit among campers, making it an unforgettable celebration for everyone.
CELEBRATE BLACK HISTORY IN AN EDUCATIONAL AND FUN WAY!
Through interactive challenges, participants dive into topics such as civics, anti-bullying, teamwork, and community in a fun and engaging way, while learning about Martin Luther King Jr., Madam C.J. Walker, Barack Obama, Dwyane Wade, Harriet Tubman, and Celia Cruz.
Through trivia, physical challenges, and act-out games, Black history comes to life.
- Trivia Games: Participants test their knowledge on Black history icons and events, using quick thinking to answer questions and earn points for their team.
- Physical Challenges like Walk this Way get participants up and moving, channeling the spirit of leaders who worked tirelessly for change.
- Act-Out Games: Creative activities like Charade the Dream encourage participants to imagine and express their own dreams, inspired by leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Each successful challenge earns a badge to fill the team’s giant heart on the screen, symbolizing unity and respect. Badges include Help Your Community, Advocate for Others, Dream Big, and Inspire Joy.
The show ends with a joyful Freeze Dance Party to the music of Afro-Latina icon Celia Cruz, celebrating the spirit of Black culture and community.
